DRAW NEAR TO HIM IN 2015… AND HE WILL DRAW NEAR TO YOU

Each one of us has been called by God to fulfill a specific purpose and to follow a unique path.  When we step off the path God has marked out for us, the consequences can be severe – catastrophic even.  It is written in scripture that we should run the race that has been marked out for us (Hebrews 12:1-2).  That is, we must run our race – not somebody else’s.   If we decide to go our own way and do our own thing or if we try to copy someone else’s race, the consequences can affect not only us but also those around us, potentially causing much hurt and pain.   The enemy will also try to cut in on our race and knock us off course, even onto paths which can appear noble and right, yet it’s not what God wants us to do – this is something of which we need to be aware. Our Father in heaven loves us dearly as His precious children and has invested so heavily in us to the extent of giving us His only begotten Son as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.  So when we choose to go our own way, even as believers, we hurt Him, but we also hurt ourselves as there can be painful consequences. When the Israelites were travelling across Sinai under Moses’ leadership, time and again the people tested God’s patience, mercy and love.  Of the six hundred thousand men (plus women and children) who left Egypt, only two of those original men made it into the Promised Land – Joshua and Caleb.  Why? …Because...
