“PEACE PEACE WHEN THERE IS NO PEACE…”

“PEACE PEACE WHEN THERE IS NO PEACE…”

“Peace Peace When There is No Peace…” The prophets Jeremiah and Ezekiel both spoke these words to the people of Israel when they saw what was coming. The people had been seduced into complacency in their disobedience to the Lord’s will, believing everything was okay and life would be good because false prophets had told them so. But Jeremiah and Ezekiel saw differently, hearing directly from God, knowing His anger and wrath were to be poured out on a rebellious nation who’d long been rejecting His ways. “An astonishing and horrible thing has been committed in the land; the prophets prophesy falsely and the priests rule by their own power; and my people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end?” (Jer 5:31) Jeremiah went on to say, ”they have healed the brokenness of My people lightly, saying peace peace when there is no peace.”[i] He repeats these same words in chapter eight verse eleven. His words are echoed by Ezekiel who also stated, “it is definitely because they have misled My people by saying, ‘Peace!’ when there is no peace.” [ii] Are we sailing into a storm? A wise sailor keeps a close eye on the weather forecast to see what’s coming. Today’s technical advances enable seafarers to get a very good idea of the weather, days or even weeks in advance, and prepare accordingly. He or she will see bad weather coming, batten down the hatches, stow away anything that might get thrown about below, tidy the decks and reduce liability topside by reefing sails. They may even prepare a sea anchor for...
WANTED! AMBASSADORS FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

WANTED! AMBASSADORS FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

As 2014 comes to an end, I believe now is the time to prayerfully consider what may lie ahead and how we ought to respond. Over the last twelve months I’ve met many people with a foreboding sense that tough times are ahead – a sentiment I concur with. Whatever the future holds we must remember we are but pilgrims on a journey – travellers in time and space, living in a world to which we don’t belong. It is written that on this journey we are to be ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20), appealing on His behalf to the people in this world, that they would choose to be reconciled to the Father. In order to be obedient to this part of our calling, we must first understand what the role of an ambassador is. According to the Oxford Dictionary, an ambassador is “an accredited diplomat sent by a state as its permanent representative in a foreign country”. In other words, they represent their respective kingdoms with the full authority and understanding of their government or leader. If there is a kingdom-related question to be answered, an ambassador can be summoned to give an explanation. We, as ambassadors for Christ, are being called to represent His kingdom here on earth. We are His servants; called and made righteous by faith in Jesus, to carry out good works. Ambassadors don’t remain in countries forever; they have tours of duty. They live and work temporarily in countries that are not their own. Likewise, we are not here forever – we are on a tour of duty, with a mission and purpose. Just as earthly ambassadors speak with the full authority of their government, we...

PROPHECY RECEIVED FROM A SUPPORTER OF THE EMMAUS GROUP – JANUARY 2014

This prophecy was weighed before publishing and, having first secured permission from the source, felt inspired to publish it as it sits alongside other prophetic words we have received over the last 18 months. “Soon, an event of catastrophic proportions will occur upon the earth. This event will herald a period of unparalleled distress and disorder upon the face of the earth when the natural order of creation will be shaken to its very foundations. These are the very final days of this present order and present age before the fulfillment and summation of all things. Throughout these days, which will appear bereft of my presence, but in reality will be the final harvest of this present age, the outpouring of my spirit shall be of such intensity, when multitudes shall be brought into my kingdom and the miraculous and the unimaginable shall be seen, as I come to take my rightful place amongst my people. Now is the time for my people to arise and proclaim the glory of my splendor and of my coming kingdom; for behold I stand at the door of this present age with my feet upon the very threshold. In the midst of the chaos and turmoil that shall arise from these events, I will reveal myself in all my glory to those powers who have opposed me and been hostile to my kingdom. And I will bring to fulfillment all I have spoken of in my word and throughout the ages as my kingdom comes, and I am seen to be who I truly am; the lamb slain before the foundation of...
