BE HOLY AS I AM HOLY

BE HOLY AS I AM HOLY

(Download PDF Print-friendly version) Holy, holy, holy Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come, Holy is His name. Amen. Disciples of Jesus Christ are called to be holy as the Lord they serve is holy. We are His people, a royal priesthood, chosen and set apart for Him. Therefore as His bondservants we are to remain unspotted by the ways of this world. The word holiness in Greek is hagios, and means different or otherness. The temple of God was to be holy, different to any other building. Set apart for special service to Him. This is holiness – to be set apart. It implies something is distinguished and distinct. For us, being holy means we to are to be distinguishable from the world, like our Master. The Hebrew word used in the Old Testament was qodesh and again means apartness, set apart or sacred. As He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, be holy as I am holy. – 1 Peter 1:15 Jesus told us clearly to come out and be separate, not to do as the world does. This is being holy: setting ourselves apart and distinguishing ourselves from the world by not doing as the world does. It’s why Jesus teachings were so revolutionary in their day going against the current of contemporary culture at the time, including religious culture. It’s why He had such challenges from religious leaders who nullified the commands of God by replacing them with the traditions of men – just as today! As His word does...
WHY BRITAIN HAD TO LEAVE THE EU

WHY BRITAIN HAD TO LEAVE THE EU

(Download PDF Print-friendly version) Why Britain had to leave the EU – it was God’s will for us! It is written that God establishes the boundaries of nations and for those who understand the times we are in, you realise we’re getting close to the end of days. So in light of the Referendum outcome, we decided to publish this article as we believe Britain could be the ancient nation of Tarshish, as referred to in Old Testament biblical prophecy. Tarshish is listed as one of the nations that challenges the Gog- Magog confederacy that sets itself up against Israel. Tarshish is also one of the first nations to bring offerings (tribute) to the God of Israel therefore could not be part the Gog-Magog confederacy. The Emmaus Group believes our deliverance from Europe was God’s will for this nation, for His word does not return void but will perform what He purposes, in the thing for which He sent it (Isaiah 55:11). So be encouraged, but also understand such revelation highlights the times we’re in. Time is now very short and Britain will soon be humbled. What we are witnessing before our very eyes reflects both prophecy and the list of nations in Ezekiel 38.   Descendants of Noah As with all good stories we must start at the beginning. In Genesis chapter 10 it lists the nations that descended from the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham and Japheth. Japheth himself had seven sons: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech and Tiras. The sons of Javan, Noah’s great-grandsons, were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim and Dodanim. From these, the coastland peoples...
THE GOD OF ISRAEL IS FAITHFUL AND TRUE

THE GOD OF ISRAEL IS FAITHFUL AND TRUE

(Download PDF Print-friendly version) In these days of increasing enmity towards Israel and the Jewish people, we must always keep in mind our God is the ‘God of Israel.’ The kings and princes of this world may conspire against her, but it’s the Lord’s counsel that will stand when it comes to this prophetic time clock of a nation. Re-established in 1948, Israel has spent 46 of her 68 years in a state of conflict; including three existential wars. Never in history has such a nation had to fight for survival, straight from the womb; she was less than one day old before the massed Arab armies sought to destroy her. Yet despite their efforts then, the many wars since, and the ongoing hostility of her neighbours today, including global economic sanctions by some, she defies precedent and logic. In the midst of adversity she thrives and prospers, blessing the world with remarkable technological, scientific and medical advances. How can this be? How can a tiny nation the size of Wales endure three existential wars, and a myriad of other conflicts, yet both survive and prosper? She does so because her God is faithful and true. Out of the ashes of the holocaust emerged a nation, one the world never stops trying to defame, yet against all the odds; against military reasoning and precedent; against a backdrop of global economic uncertainty, Israel flourishes as a healthy olive tree in a sea of turmoil. There will of course until the end of days, continue to be plans in the hearts of men who plot against her; proud men who will...
THE RAPTURE – BEFORE, DURING OR AFTER THE TRIBULATION?

THE RAPTURE – BEFORE, DURING OR AFTER THE TRIBULATION?

(Download PDF Print-friendly version) “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world to test those who dwell on the earth.” Revelation 3:10 Much debate exists on the subject of the rapture. Questions are frequently asked as to whether true followers of Jesus Christ will be raptured before, during or at the end of the period known as the great tribulation. In considering this subject we have to ask ourselves many questions, for example: why does the book of Revelation exist in the Bible if we were not going to be here to see its fulfilment? How do we account for the persecution and martyrdom of Christians today? Are they not going through a tribulation now? Why does Jesus so often refer to those who persevere? How do we reconcile a pre-tribulation rapture with the words of Jesus himself in Matthew 24, which are so clear and speak of times of great trouble for the bride of Christ: “For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.” Why do Revelation 12 and 13 tell us so clearly that Satan is thrown out of heaven to wage war on the woman (symbolic of Israel) and those who keep the commandments of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ? This too clearly speaks of...
